Game Progress Lost - Shift 2

Hi

I have been playing Need For Speed - Shift 2 since 12/03/2012.

Today when I went to play the game I tuned one of the cars and my game progress was lost.

I can only see 2 options on the screen.

Have I lost 3 years game play?

Thanks

Ken

If local progress is lost then I'm afraid that we can't restore it.

For future reference please make sure that you backup your local saves. And, if you are playing via Origin, please also try enabling Cloud Storage.

  • Yep it's gone. Apparently you have to manually take a backup of your save file before you play the game. Every. Single. Time.

It sucks. I also just lost all progress for no reason whatsoever.

Data corruption could happen for a number of reasons.  But it mostly happens when a game crashes or when a system experiences a sudden loss of power. It could also be related to a hard disk failing to write the data.

Because there are so many causes for how save data can get corrupted, I don't have a single solution.

Are you able to provide a fix for this?

At least give us something to reset the XP, because with this bug you are stuck in modern D.

When you spend hours to gain the next Level, hoping that this Progress reopens your locked tracks - NO IT DOES NOT.

    I agree.

I have played for a couple years off and on. This time the profile is gone "failed to save". I have try uninstalling and reinstall with same problem. I have tried running as administrator, giving all permissions to the documents folder, and running in compatibility mode. I have tried 2 different drives, My C: drive which is an ssd and my D; drive. All yield same result, can not save profile. The game runs fine but I can't save any progress. I'm beginning to believe that EA purposely built this in to try to get people to buy the games they are now pushing. Makes me think I may move to MS Forza.
