HDR Issues On PS4 Pro

Ok so I've just bought this game and straight away I'm noticing HDR issues mostly on the loading and cut scenes such as crushed and heavily pixilated colours and colour banding very similar to the same HDR issues EA had with Battlefront II  - I honestly thought they would have figured HDR out by now...

There's no In-game options to adjust the HDR settings either, In fact, there's no display options what so ever?

Just to clarify I'm playing on a brand new high-end LG 4K HDR TV and on the PS4 Pro.

  • I have a similar issue, I set HDR to off on PC but it still start with HDR enabled

  • I'm certain that HDR is broken. Color banding ahoy. What's up with that? Why do all the cut scenes look like some low bandwidth Youtube videos? I see tons of artifacts in the blacks. It's just gross. I thought it was just a PC HDR problem so that's why I checked it on my PS4. First Battlefront II had this issue, and now this? Is it the Frostbite engine? What's the deal? Y'all can't keep putting stuff out like this. Loads more people are getting HDR displays and they're not going to continue buying your products if they don't look good. If I bought this for my PS4 I'd definitely want my money back.

Side note: Controls on PS4 are atrocious. Waaaaay too sensitive even with the live tune sensitivity set to the lowest.

This is likely an incompatibility between the HDR implementation in the game and Dolby Vision, a feature on your TV.

While this issue is still occurring, disabling HDR on your console/PC may be required for the game to display correctly.

  • @EA_Barry Oh, but it doesn't. Setting it to SDR has its own set of issues. Like the super hot white point that exists for no good reason. Contrast is definitely set too high too. Both my displays are professionally calibrated so I know it's not them.

Also, asking me to turn off a feature that I bought the TV specifically for is a pretty poor solution. You're saying that every time I wish to play this on my PS4 that I have to disable HDR on the console, and then re-enable it for the games that have spectacular HDR implementation. Luckily my main is my PC and I have found workarounds for this HDR problem on my PC else I'd have a serious problem with your 'solution'.
