Highlighting a bug with the elite clutch

I discovered the following bug/error with the elite clutch in Need for Speed.

When i tried to install it in my main car, a highly modified Mustang Foxbody, it indicts that it'll make the cars' performance worse than the racing clutch, instead of improving it, as it should.

I expected the negative effect to be the same for all cars, but it appears to work as intended in my lightly tuned MX-5 and a stock 1965 Mustang.

I've already reported this bug to an E.A. advisor, in case it's a widespread issue it might be fixed in a patch.

They suggested i also post the issue here, in case it's affecting other people.

While the advisor didn't offer me any ideas on how to possibly fix it, they did suggest something that i hadn't thought of - that perhaps it's only in the tuning screen that the cars' performance is worse, that possibly on the in game road, the part will actually improve performance, as intended.

Pity the game doesn't have a specific area to test 0-60 times "in the flesh" as Gran Turismo 5 did... Does anyone know if the game's drag racing mode gives 0-60 times in real time, to actually test cars' performance?

Anyway, ye can see the bug in detail in the following video on Youtube, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7amMAPtJJYk 🙂 .

  • yeah i noticed this as well with many parts not just clutch. I would put better part and it would say it'll give me worse time yet it gives more HP and torque. Tho when i reenter the garage then the numbers get corrected... I think it's just a textual but but indeed it has to be looked into and i thought for some time that maybe there is some balancing between parts to be done by hand like it will work better with sport this and elite this.
