How do I add a friend?

I want to add my wife as a friend. I have the PS3 version of NFSMW. I know both her Origin email address and player handle. I cannot see an "add friend" button anywhere on the game nor on needforspeed.com

How do I add her as a friend so that I can see her achievements in single player?
