How do I make a damn "Turbo Slam"?!

Sup people

I dunno why I cant make a god damn Turbo Slam? I'm probably doing something wrong..

I come up side to side to a rival with turbo on. I turn right, so my right side of the car smashes into his left side. But still nothing? What am I doing wrong?!!

    Try to already be side by side another racer when you activate it and then just bump him when you trigger the turbo

    Not just aim for the cars, but hit the cops instead. I tried to hit the cars but i wasnt getting any turbo slams, so i tried hitting the cops.

    Yea i dont understand if its the regular turbo or the pursuit tech
