i bought need for speed but only get a black screen when i try to play it

i recently bought need for speed rivals and have not even been able to play it as every time i load it i get a black screen i have tried to exit full screen and it does not do anything, i am running ...

If windowed mode did not work for you, try the following please:

  • Reducing your monitor's resolution as much as you can (just to perform a test.)
  • Launching the game from the hard drive and/or running the game in compatibility mode.
  • Make sure that you’ve added the Origin client as an exception to any Firewalls or other Internet Security Software, like Ad-Block, you may have running so that your connection to our servers isn’t blocked.
  • Try a clean boot and right after launch the game only. The Clean Boot process disables many background tasks that may be causing interference: How to Clean Boot your PC or Mac
