I Can't Accept Friend Request

I want to play cross play on nfs heat with my friend but it is locked and off and I can’t turn it on. What do I do?

Have you both opted in to CrossPlay?
When you’re not in a party, you can change your cross-play status under Privacy in the Lobby.
