INVALID SERIAL KEY ON RETAIL NFS HOT PURSUIT!

I have just purchased NFS Hotpursuit from JB HIFI in Traralgon, Victoria, Australia. I have gone through the installation and it has asked me for a serial number. I entered the serial number which came with the retail copy of the game AND IT'S INVALID! WTF is with that?

And now because I have kept trying to input it in, I have reached my limit.
I am so pissed, I also purchased battle field 3 today, and it says the disc can't be read at 99%. I got a new computer, purchased two new games, and i can't play either of them.
No wonder people download them illegally

Also thinking about buying battlefeild but im not to sure if its a good option :/ i got a new computer (Samsung Laptop, core i7, 1GB RG and windows 7) It should work I guess D:
