That just ridiculous. Of course there are things I can't purchase IRL, but I haven't paid for a real life experience, I paid for an electronic game.
Please, can we stay on point? Like I mentioned earlier, I'm quite fine with people having more money than me and flaunting it around. What I dislike is that between every race and everytime I enter EasyDrive I have to be reminded that there are packs out there that I can't purchase.
I am 30 years old and I have been playing NFS since back in the '90s. I just want to enjoy my game like I have 10 times in the past, without interference. I tried jacking a car and I was sent directly to the "Store". I wanted to enter a race, "you need the something-pack to enter this race". When I look at the Most Wanted list, I can see several new additions with a big yellow icon stating "NEW", but when I scrolled over them once again I was told to purchase something and it still lights up the screen with the big yellow "NEW" tag even if I have read the unjoinable races information.
I do not mind having 2gb of unusable data on my machine, all I ask for is a possibility to NOT have this invasive update/DLC addon-content displayed ingame all the time. There must be some way of removing those "sprites" that is not a part of my game, I mean, they are 100kbs a piece. The DLC unlocks the ability to use certain locked functions ingame, I can't see why those 100kb doesn't include a set of parameters that add the content that is on the machine already.
I know there are other ways of implementing these features ingame and I feel like EA/Criterion chose one of the more invasive methods. In my +20 years of gaming this is the first time I have been this frustrated over an update/new feature. Never before have I been this much reminded about not having the funds to get the fullest out of the game.
I hope I'm making sense. If it is a little confusing, then it is because English is my second language.
Best Regards!
Daniel
