Is DLC contents really necessary to have included in the main game?

I feel as though you are plastering me with DLC here and there and I don't really want to spend more $ on a game I've already bought.

Today was my second time playing NFSMW since "the big update". I stumbled over a jackspot and tried to switch over, I got sent directly to the Store.

I don't quite understand why there is DLC contents in the main game. Why is it added before purchasing the DLC's???

I'm not trying to be cheap petty gamer, I just find it very annoying that I have to look at Races I can't run, how many % complete on 5 packs I do not own, Cars I cannot switch to because I do not own the DLC's in which they are contained. I can name several games that do not push its DLC "agenda" down its gamers throat.

I want to enjoy my game and be able to play it as I bought it, not as you have intended it to be from the get-go, only to scrape in more money.

Best regards!

Daniel

Am I really the only one finding this procedure intrusive?

I honestly feel as though I've just went to some really cool summer vacation, only to realize the city is inhabited with an insane amount of salesmen trying to sell me stuff they insist will make my vacation better and more enjoyable, but I know it is unneeded to enjoy my vacation. I didn't take the trip because of the many ways of spending money, I did it to enjoy myself and have a good time. I might have taken the trip, but I am not going to buy anything from those salesmen and I am most definitely not taking spending my vacation there ever again.

I am being invaded in my game, and the only way to end it is by restoring my 1 month old PS3 backup and deactivate auto-update. I enjoy your game, but I will not accept your poor attempts at pushing extra content down my throat.

The update was almost 2 gigs and the addons are only 100kb, so it is obvious all the DLC was in that update. Why not make a DLC that installs the DLC when it is purchased and not beforehand, as if its already in the big scheme of things?

It's quite obvious to me. How are you gonna see the players driving the DLC cars, if the content is not on your machine? This isn't an add-on or expansion, which requires all users to purchase it to access (like Battlefield 2142).

Sure, I get that. But why are there cars I can't jack, races I can't race and statistics I can't improve, but yet I am reminded of those facts many, many times during gameplay? I do not play multiplayer so I don't really care for other players cars. The game should recognize that I don't have those packs and not show those items ingame(single-player). If/when I would join a multiplayer game then I would not mind it. I don't mind the races and cars are on my machine, I do mind being constantly reminded about unusable features.

Listen, I love DLC's and addons for games. I think it's great that I can enjoy a game a little while longer for a small fee. These packs will add up to almost what I initially paid for the game in the first place. That I am also fine with, because you can choose to buy only one at a time.

My problem is the fact that these packs now represent 1/10th of the full game and yet I cannot choose whether I want this content to be a part of my game or not. It just is.

If I could remove the update and stay offline, I would. But even this I cannot do.

Maybe you can think in this way; in our real world, there are things which are not owned by us at this moment. We may be forced not to own them. Or may be we choose not to own them. Those things are still existed in our world, they won't be disappeared no matter you own it or not.

Sorry for my bad English. I just hope I can make you feel better.😕mileyhappy:

That just ridiculous. Of course there are things I can't purchase IRL, but I haven't paid for a real life experience, I paid for an electronic game.

Please, can we stay on point? Like I mentioned earlier, I'm quite fine with people having more money than me and flaunting it around. What I dislike is that between every race and everytime I enter EasyDrive I have to be reminded that there are packs out there that I can't purchase.

I am 30 years old and I have been playing NFS since back in the '90s. I just want to enjoy my game like I have 10 times in the past, without interference. I tried jacking a car and I was sent directly to the "Store". I wanted to enter a race, "you need the something-pack to enter this race". When I look at the Most Wanted list, I can see several new additions with a big yellow icon stating "NEW", but when I scrolled over them once again I was told to purchase something and it still lights up the screen with the big yellow "NEW" tag even if I have read the unjoinable races information.

I do not mind having 2gb of unusable data on my machine, all I ask for is a possibility to NOT have this invasive update/DLC addon-content displayed ingame all the time. There must be some way of removing those "sprites" that is not a part of my game, I mean, they are 100kbs a piece. The DLC unlocks the ability to use certain locked functions ingame, I can't see why those 100kb doesn't include a set of parameters that add the content that is on the machine already.

I know there are other ways of implementing these features ingame and I feel like EA/Criterion chose one of the more invasive methods. In my +20 years of gaming this is the first time I have been this frustrated over an update/new feature. Never before have I been this much reminded about not having the funds to get the fullest out of the game.

I hope I'm making sense. If it is a little confusing, then it is because English is my second language.

    Best Regards!

Haha, I felt the same way when there were more than 6 cars that wanted me to buy rather than unlocking it or something... it's rather annoying when you are trying to find the cars in solo play only to be taunted by cars you need to purchase, and don't get me wrong. some are cool. I thought about it but no. I like the game but not enough to buy the DLC stuff.

also, I find it funny that almost all the games that are given for free from the SimCity fiasco have a ton of DLC items to make the game feel incomplete unless you purchase the required DLC... anyone else notice that? they need your money.
