Another well supported racing game is The Crew 2.But that game is also online only and UPLAY exclusive. So no real single player mode.
Even though The Crew 2 is still being supported by Ubisoft, people that play the game regularly aren't happy with each subsequent updates since the end of Hot Shots era on November 2019.
There have been nothing but negative stuff about TC2 since then.
Also, people that play The Crew 2 regularly are very upset that cops are coming to the game (including one of my friends). These people play The Crew 2 because it has no cops.
For me, I'm glad cops are coming to that game. It should've been in the game at launch in 2018.
Regarding no single player mode in The Crew 2, technically there is single player but you need a constant internet connection even for single player (which is stupid in the first place).
The Crew 2 can be purchased at Steam, Epic Games Store, or Uplay. So it's not really Uplay exclusive.

TC2 didn't add Police from the beginning because it wasn't a direct sequel or reimagination of TC1
It was a bad idea to do that in the first place when there has only been one The Crew game. The fanbase hasn't been established yet. The franchise is still "new".
Unlike the NFS franchise when it has been around for 20+ years that it established the supercars / police fanbase and the customization / underground fanbase.

It was more like FH series but focus more on stunts and races rather than car collection or history culture.
The Crew 2 has 350+ vehicles to buy in the game so far, way more than the amount in The Crew 1.
So The Crew 2 can also be seen as a car collecting game as well.

It doesn't have a real single player mode just like NFS2015.
What do you mean The Crew 2 doesn't have single player? It does have it, but it just requires a constant internet connection to even play single player.
You're confusing single player with the always-online DRM requirement.
An online-only game with a career / campaign mode can be played single player, even though it's stupid the game requires a constant internet connection.

But it is so mainstream that almost every recent games(excluding indie games) are broken at launch and fixed step by step post-launch with GAAS.So TC NFS FH are all example of this bad direction.
This is why I don't approve the mentality of "Release it now, fix it later".
A game that's released in a broken state is forever bad for me.
