I"ve tried everything possible.. and the game will not launch

It sounds as if there may be some sort of application/program or process on your system that is interfering with Need for Speed. I would suggest to perform a clean boot to rule out this as a possibility.

still no go... I'm going to uninstall Origin again.. and start from scratch, i have no idea why this won't run on my computer.. first time this ever happened,

Thanks for replying, could you post a copy of your DxDiag in this thread for me so I can have a look at your system specs, you never know it may give me an idea of what is happening?

Do you ever receive an error message when it freezes after trying to load the game from Origin? Also out of curiosity what antivirus/security software are you using at this time?

There are other possible work arounds for this, could you create a second user profile on your system. Make sure it is given full admin rights and then install the game and try to launch it again. If it runs in this profile it means there is something in your other one interfering with the loading process.

so i'm in the process of uninstatlling everthing again.. and just installed origin...  heres what i'm confused about now... i paid for pre order.. recieved a DVD and installed it.. didn't play... it's only 5.37 GB... when installed.. sooooooooo.. i unistalled it and then reinstalled it.. same thing.. so i just got home from night shift at the fire hall and i tried to just install it from the origin.. with no dvd in the drive.. and it's downloading...?????

I will try it after it loads, and if it still dosen't work, I will try what you suggested.. and post tomorrow.. back, on shift again tonight.. thanks for the help so far..

I am having the same problems that drover115 is having, I spent an hour with tech support on the phone and exhausted all level 1 tech support troubleshooting methods. Case #06289767 They told me I need to call back in on Monday to talk with a specialist, but I would really enjoy being able to play my game over the weekend. 

They keep spouting Windows 8 is unsupported to me, but that is a load of excuses because every other game or piece of software I have works fine on it and fundamentally Windows 8 didn't change the kernal or anything important enough to cause issues like this.

I have reinstalled orgins and nsf mw twice, clean booted, firewall turned off, UAC off, no anti virus, there is another thread that mentions these problems that says solved, but none of the solutions in the solution post fix it for me. My DxDiag is attached to my case notes.

Hey guys,

This step is more aimed at the issue doc713 is having with Windows 8 but I thought that you could also give it a shot drover115.

FIrst exit Origin and make sure that the process has completely finished. Right click on your Origin desktop icon or origin.exe and select Properties. Click the Compatibility tab. Uncheck the box marked "Run the program in compatibility mode for:".

Also verify that "Run this program as an administrator" is unchecked. There is no need to elevate Origin's permissions. That is handled automatically by the program.

Once you have done this please start up Origin and try to run the game again.

Hi Rick,

I run windows 7x64,

that dosent' work either, when i open the origin.. battlefield 3 works with no issue whatsoever, but when i click on nfs mw.. and select play, the mouse cursor thinks for a few seconds.. stops.. and then nothing.. the play button is selectable again.. ??

Thanks for the reply earick, I hadn't thought to focus on troubleshooting Origins instead of the game. Though sadly after trying compatibility mode of Vista and 7 in every combination for the two the game still simply fails to spawn the NSF13.exe process and does nothing after it syncs cloud data. I will be talking on the phone with a specialist tomorrow and I will report back the solution if we are able to find one.
