List: Maxed Car Comparison (Ultimate+ & Engine Swaps)
Hey all,
Figured it would be a nice change of pace to have a constructive thread about the game for once. I unlocked all the parts in the game and thought it would be a good idea to put together a list comparing all the different cars, incorporating all their costs and performance measures. Hopefully this picks up some interest and maybe even save some of you time on cars you wouldn't want.
In my comparison:
1) Each car is taken to the Speedway circuit race event (4 laps around Speedway) and raced for 4 "perfect" times (4 races per car). By "perfect" times, I refer to full races of no collisions, no bumping of walls, and maintaining cornering speed above >180mph (some cars excepted from this), to measure the cleanest possible race time. Each car was limited to 3 uses of the 15lb nitrous tank per race (not using Nitrous Duration auxiliary perk)
2) Each car is fitted with what I deemed to be the best engine, all Ultimate+ engine components, Dual/Twin Turbo, Track Suspensions, Racing Tires, and Track Differentials. Each car had a 15lb nitrous tank. The only variation in components came from gearboxes, where some cars achieve a higher performance on a 6 or 7 speed transmission versus an 8 speed.
3) The Speedway is a fair comparison because it incorporates long stretches of straight road, as well as long curvatures for the U-turns, which fairly assesses maneuverability/handling.
Below is a summary of results thus far. The list is organized by "Average Race Time", which is the average of each cars' four (4) race times.
Right-click the image and "Open Image in New Tab" to see the full-size screenshot. The results show the most cost-effective cars, on a relative performance level.
Below is each car's cost breakdown:
Special Mentions:
-Lotus Exige S: the handling on this car really surprised me; it is able to go around the turns very easily, without ever letting go of the gas, and is able to maintain >210mph on the turns. It is incredibly quick and nimble.
-Ford F-150 Raptor: the truck really lacked in turning capability; it had to be slowed down to as low as 145mph to make the turns. Very slow acceleration and definitely not worth the $1m worth of investment.
-Volkswagen Beetle: the car is hilariously quick, but has absolutely no turning capability and starts to slide really hard beyond 220mph on turns. Took me ages to run 4 good races.
I was also thinking of incorporating my own personal rating of each car's handling, depending on how much interest this thread gets. Given that many cars significantly lack in handling and maneuverability at high speeds, I think this is a very important consideration.
Let me know what you guys think!
