My xbox 360 controller (on WIN10-64bit pc) doesn't work anymore.

I havent played this game for a while. Last time I played was on Windows 7 and had no problems with any x-input controller that is not a driving wheel. Now I have windows 10 and I just recently installed the game again. When I'm on the title screen where it prompts me to "PRESS A", nothing happens unless I press enter on the keyboard. Then when I'm in the main menu nothing reacts to any controller input. I also have a XBOX-one Elite controller (only since I installed windows 10-64bit home) and the game doesn't respond to that either. Both my x360 (Horipad ex2 turbo) and XBOXone contollers (CONTROLLERS NOT WHEELS) work on EVERY game that supports x-input devices. Could it be that the "XGamepad.dll" file, the game installs in the root directory (where the NFS14.exe file is), somehow conflicts with Windows 10 software??? (deleting this file gives error message)
