Yes, and unfortunately EA just never learns or seems to care one bit about consumers opinion on development on any of there games that I have been aware of.
I have done much reading into EA corporation and the amount of cash they make is unreal.
They truly have lost touch with game consumers and have become outdated in something truly original for NFS Series.
ImI glad we all are allowed to share and express our individual interests in this forum.
Sadly however I feel all our words are hitting deep space and not being transferred back to the morons at EA!
Great post and thanks for sharing.
Kudos XP for your help Brother. 👍😁
Yes not much us older people say counts it seems. I wonder what percentage of the gaming sales are younger age group ? I wonder this because at this point who in their right mature mind would buy into the hype that will be attached to the next NFS game . For some it is now 100% that the game has to prove its worth before we will buy it. I don't care about trailers or demos at shows anymore due to constant let downs. i care about finished product and how well that is. .

Yes exactly what I was thinking about as well!
The finished product is what only matters to me to.
The EA shows are nothing more than the (Pull The Rug Over Our Eyes Gimmick)!
Meaning a consumer only sees a particular part of the game and is missing the rest of the concept of the game.
It is not until some poor soul buys the game and then gets (Buyer's Remorse)!
EA, will most likely keep praying upon consumers that don't bother to investigate what they are buying.
In fact Corporate America is Targeting such clueless consumers through their public relations campaigns of advertising!
So EA included are targeting a particular age group to buy these games.
I mean companies have (Think Tanks)!
Think Tanks are groups of people that bring random consumers off the street looking for ideas, suggestions, or completely honest complaints!
I am aware of corporate Think Tanks as well and those are different.
My focus is on consumer Think Tanks.
So I totally understand and appreciate @master2g.
Brother I'm absolutely in agreement with you!
Thanks for sharing additional information and thoughts.
Hope you have a great weekend.😁👍

I think the major issue with EA is the fact that they are one of the companies that have fired developers but have given huge bonuses to executives. Another problem is pushing politics into video games and saying "oh well, if you dont like it, dont buy the game". Consumers dont buy games for political reasons they buy games for entertainment.
To get back on topic. Let's face it, it's not the actual developers (meaning the people actually making the game) fault that some of the last few NFS games have hit a snag. We had a good think with 2015 meaning pure, underground racing. We had customization (a lot of cars lacked a lot of parts) and the performance customization was great. It was kind of on par with UG2. It was essentially a reintroduction to the UG series. Why didn't EA just improve upon that? They had a great thing going with 2015 all they needed to do was upgrade from there. Dont get me wrong, Payback was fine but there were major issues. One was lack of cops and the other was the really bad performance customization. The map was super small. We live in generation where maps are fairly large though, I loved the setting.
What we need (which people have been asking for years) is another game like how UG or MW (05) was. They need to go back and see what were some of the best selling of all time. UG2 and MW (05) were two of the best selling games they put out. They need to go back to the model they used for those games. That was pure, awesome gameplay. UG2 had some of the best customization ever out out while MW (05) had the best story. Both of those games had huge replayability. They need something such as those games to put them back on the map. Forget politics and forget profit margins for a change and make a game that will beat all other racing games out there.

1. Always-Online DRM
If EA were to permanently shut down the servers for a game that you paid for, your money has gone down the drain. The game becomes unplayable.
If that were to happen (EA has a long track record for killing off games), you can't play the game 10 or 20 years later like you can with NFS Underground games.
2. Horrible driving physics
Driving physics in Need For Speed 2015 (Need For Speed Reboot) feel nothing like the driving physics in the NFS Underground games.
NFS 2015 (NFS Reboot) features drift physics that it's a necessity to drift to win races while NFS Underground games feature grip physics that it's not mandatory to drift.

1. Always-online DRM
Despite the devs saying the game can be played offline, NFS Payback is secretly an online-only game.
The game has Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM inside it that requires players to periodically connect to the internet to authenticate their game to Denuvo servers before playing. If Denuvo servers get shut down temporarily or permanently, then the game is unplayable.
2. Shipments (Loot boxes)
Players spend currency for a chance of getting things they want.
They shouldn't have to do that. Players should be able to purchase whatever they want just like in previous NFS games. Like NFS 2015 (NFS Reboot) for example.
3. Horrible driving physics (Same as NFS 2015 or NFS Reboot)

Both the NFS Underground games and NFS Most Wanted 2005 had grip physics which added to the games' successes with NFS Underground's customization and NFS Most Wanted 2005's pursuits.
Unforunately, it's been confirmed by a Ghost Games community manager on NFS subreddit that the upcoming NFS game will feature drift physics. Not the grip driving physics from NFS Underground games and NFS Most Wanted 2005.

So I'm already not looking forward to the next NFS game.
Hopefully the next NFS game isn't online-only and doesn't have Denuvo Anti-Tamper because that will just make things worse if the game does have them.

@TheRealJonyYes, online only for 2015 was a major set back. I was talking in terms of cars and customization. The cars were either hars to turn or easy to drift which was a huge set back for the game. I still think 2015 is a good foundation for future NFS games.
As far as Payback goes with the online issue you mentioned, I've never had an issue. It would just tell me to sign in online to access the store. The lootboxes I understand from a business standpoint as the prices of games are flat so they have to have other ways to bring in revenue. That's where lootboxes and different editions of games come in. As far as driving physics go on Payback, the "always drift" aspect of it is annoying but it's not a huge setback for me.
As far as the physics go, when I mentioned that the new ones should follow the same model as the previous best selling ones, I figured I didn't need to point that out since I mentioned the future ones should be like the previous ones. I'm not saying carbon copies, just follow the same model. UG2 was best in terms of gameplay (physics included), and customization. MW (05) followed the same model but was improved upon. The only real difference was the blacklist, performance and visual customization, cars (obviously) and it was daytime. Both amazing games and both games that the future ones need to be based off of.
- 7 years agoThats my thoughts too, im also a old NFS gamer 30 soon 31. It seems like EA doesnt listen too us older guys anymore, i have been loyal too them since 1995 ish. Even though i dident like the games produced after 2002, i wish EA could go back too the simpe days. With pure trackracing and no bullshitstory, they have milked it too far. I dont give a damn what milenniumNFS gamers oppinion, its time too end this streetracing trend.

Yes, I agree it' Time for EA & Ghost Studios to wake up and get back to open world races!
I have been playing NFS since the first game came out in early 1990's.
Heck I'm so old I was around before Atari Video games came out in the 1970's. LoL 😁.
I still prefer playing the old NFS over the new junk EA has been pouring out like sewage the last decade or so.
Now I realize all corporations bottom line is making money.
However, the way EA has been going forward, has been less than approved of by many game player's!
It's time to tell EA to stop all the Micro Transactions, and stop adding DRM to video games they tell their studios hired out to create.
Also, many have explained that the cheap visual effects need to be fixed.
Things like shadows, sun, Moon and other colors themes need serious work.
The game could be so much more realistic and fans expect top quality in their games.
Have a great day 😁😎
