I'm come from Taiwan. I have same problem.
"Need For Speed Carbon" is a good game.
I was find game disc and setup before yesterday.
The game always say " speed.exe 已經停止運作 (speed.exe has stopped working)"
But Customer service always tell me the same solution.

DICE TeamDepending on which Windows version you're playing, the game will most likely not work via a disc. At this point I don't have any specific steps to resolve that.
What I would recommend is to do a web search to find out how other players have gotten the game working on your operating system.
