The only games that I've ever seen pull off the triptonic/paddle shifting is from the Test Drive series.  They even had different shifting speeds for it vs the mechanical (manual).

      Haha it happens.  In some ways their similar, in that they both have a simulation of life feel to them, so I can see how the two games can be mistaken for each other.
