need for speed hot pursuit authorisation limit reached

I recently emailed the EA team to increase the authorisation limit on my copy of need for speed hot pursuit.

Only after reading an article regarding de-authorisation of the game did i fully understand why my authorisation limit had been reached,

I have owned this game virtually since its release and i have installed it on many of my pc's since then ( Icurrently own 3 laptops and 2 desktop gaming machines ) .However I never realised that i needed to de-authorise my copy of the game. in some instances i have upgraded operating systems and in others

i have upgraded to SSD.

As it stands at the moment I only have one installation of NFS hot pursuit active on my main desktop and when i attempted to install again onto one of my alienware gaming laptops I was told again that my installation limit was reached and to contact EA.

CAN YOU PLEASE RESET MY AUTHORISATION LIMIT BACK TO 5 PC'S 🙂)

I only have one game active and would very much like to be able to play on the other 4 machines.

This is the only game that i have ever Known to set installation restrictions and i very much hope the idea does not take root in NFS the run which i bought this week.

Thankyou for your time and patience in reading my email.

    Hi mackdaddyf1a

Alternatively  there is a tool available to deauthorize a game in a machine:

    • Overview

Certain EA PC games with SecuROM and/or Solidshield digital rights management technology allow users to concurrently "authorize" up to a certain number of computers at the same time to play the games. Users can then play the game on any authorized computer they choose. If your EA PC game was released after May 2008 and has a machine authorization limit, you can manage your computer authorizations using EA De-Authorization Tools!

Once de-authorized, a machine "slot" will be freed up and can be re-used on another computer. De-authorization does not uninstall the game, however, so if you decide you want to re-authorize your computer later, all you have to do is re-launch the game while you are connected to the Internet.

    EA De-Authorization Management Tool

If you are not sure which games with machine authorization limits are installed on your machine, the EA De-Authorization Management Tool can help you! This tool does three things:

    • Scans your computer to determine which EA PC games released after May 2008 with machine authorization limits your computer has been authorized to play.
    • Tells you how many computer authorizations you have available for each of those games.
    • Gives you the option of de-authorizing your computer for any of the games detected by the tool.

After you run the EA De-Authorization Management Tool and see a list of the games with authorization limits currently installed on your machine, you have the option of clicking on the red "De-authorize this computer" button and your browser will automatically download the Game-Specific De-Authorization Tool required to de-authorize your computer.

Download the EA De-Authorization Management Tool.

    We hope this helps.
