Greetings everyone,
I just installed Need for Speed ProStreet on my Windows 8.1 computer to get back into playing it (after finally finishing Need for Speed Most Wanted!). However, when I try to start ProStreet, a dialog box that looks a lot like the SecuROM dialogs pops up saying my operating system is not compatible, and must be updated to Windows 98 or Windows 2000. I get the feeling that whoever wrote that detection code hasn't looked at it in a looong time, since I doubt prostreet will run on Windows 98.
Are there any solutions to this? Enabling compatibility mode seems impossible since nfs.exe appears to be a console application, thus the compatibility tab is not available.
Thanks in advance!

Nevermind, problem solved! At the risk of ticking off a moderator/EA, just download a crack. I found one for version 1.1 of the game (I don't think I want to link to it here, just google it).
At least my conscious is clear since I bought the darned thing anyways.
