Need for speed rivals on Xbox one keeps freezing right when you get to the loading screen. Ditto I get to the game loading screen on my Xbox One S and then after it goes to pull my profile to sign in and starts loading opponents it freezes and sends me back to the home screen I hope honestly that EA can fix this considering this is one of two games I find enjoyable from EA access and worth paying for.
Thanks an EA Customer!

I'm still having the problem where it locks up on the start screen while 'finding a game.' It just stops and takes the XBOX One X back to the home screen. I've tried everything on your list to no avail.
One thing that did work was playing the game from a different profile. I, however, don't want to have to start the game from the beginning on a different profile. I'd rather get whatever is causing the freezing fixed. My XBOX profile is midwestcloud.
Thanks,
Eric
- Anonymous7 years agoSame problem. Cant get the game to stop freezing. Cant even make it past loading screen
- 5 years ago@midwestcloud I am having same problem mine loads says finding a game to join.....freezes then takes me to my home screen. I can't get past that. I've reinstalled I even bought a dang expansion pack hoping to get past whatever the glitch was. Probably wasted my money on a game that won't ever play. I have started this game from the beginning twice... its getting old having to do that. I JUST WANNA PLAY. @EASPORTS help

In order to load/play 100% crash/freeze free you must play offline, you can do this by disconnect your Xbox from the internet BEFORE starting the game. You can disconnect your Xbox from the internet a number of ways but the easiest is to go to your Xbox settings under the Xbox home screen, then under network disconnect internet. Unfortunately, this is currently the only way to start/load/play the game 100% crash/freeze free. NOTE: playing this way doesn't allow you to play with your friends/or strangers, but if you really want to play online with friends/stranger you can do so by starting the game offline, the once in your garage, reconnect your internet BUT just know that once you reconnect to the internet your game might still crash/freeze. Happy gaming! 🙂

Same issue here. I just keep clicking it and try to get into the game. After a handful of failed attempts it works eventually for me, although it is very time consuming and annoying as hell.
- 7 years agoDoes not work....
- 7 years agoNothing in that link helps. I just bought the game a few weeks ago. today was the first time i have played it. I get the same thing. stops loading at finding a game then back to dashboard. Now I dont know if this matters, but I had played this game before when I subscribed to EA access on xbox. The only way to get game to load is go offline. It has to be something on EA SERVERS that is causing this to happen. It does load on a different profile so what is going on. Please help

I've bought this game yesterday with Need For Speed pack on Xbox One X.And indeed...,it fails...,doesn't matter if you do the tutorial or not,if you don't want to play online, just turn off internet on Xbox, and then go offline in the game.
In options select multiplayer off.Exit the game, turn on the internet on Xbox and you are able to play (offline in game).

Same here. This is terrible. Wouldn't have expected this for a game that old. And then they even put it up for sale, probably being aware of this.

SOLVED : It worked !!! After one year of agony and frustration. I tired restarting console, deleting and reinstalling again on internal and external hard drives. Nothing worked.
So this is what I did that worked. I don’t know which of these steps worked but you might as well follow the same pattern.
1- I went to games icons/pins in xbox. Clicked menu for NFS RIVALS , “Manage games and add-on” for this specific game . On the left column it says Saved Data. I deleted that saved data. Don’t worry Its going to download again from cloud. I deleted mine from xbox and server both, when it asked.
2- But what I really think made it work was this one. In one of the solution from EA it says “ Clear persistent storage “ something to do with Blu ray setting. I KNOW. What the hell Blu-Ray setting has to do with game .. Right. But as soon as I did cleared that, the next time I started the game, it was WORKING !!!.
1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings.
3. Select Disc & Blu-ray.SOLVED.
Just in case, Here is the link which tell you to "CLEAR PERSISTENT storage."

- 6 years ago@EA_Barry This has not worked. The game keeps freezing
- 6 years ago
Sooo in all this time even today apparently this game isnt functioning properly and I'm payong for a subscription service to you guys and I see this is a now LONG standi issue that appears to have no explanation from EA, and to add to that theres other titles in The Vault that do similar or dont work at all? What kind of scam are you guys trying to pull on the gaming community here? Nobody is paying you to have inoperable games, especially ones from this far back! Fix it already guys, c'mon! Sheesh. X.x

Manually change the alternate port in advance settings worked for me
