Well Microsoft denied my refund! I even linked this thread in the request as at the time the game was entirely unplayable! Good thing its fixed, hasn't crashed once in countless boots since I moved it to internal and deleted the save. Works on both my consoles when installed internally and just for kicks I copied to my external and tried booting it on both consoles. On the external drive the game crashes every time (both the original one and one S)... Sure hope it solves it for everyone else!

2. Delete any saved games on the internal drive

Ok I moved the game save to my internal drive from an external drive. Started game and it loaded fine. I was in the menu/garage, I looked and was online in a game with people online. tried to switch to police mode game froze and sent me to dashboard. I am playing the game on an Xbox one X. Just for kicks I tried to play the game from my sons account which I don't let him play online and the game gave me a message about his account not being set for online play and after I clicked ok it loaded in single player offline mode. This was before I moved the game from the external drive. Not sure why it made a difference which drive it was on but it worked.

Has nothing to do with your saved games, the game works when the servers work, I hate to tell you that eventually the game will freeze and/or crash for you so enjoy it while it works!

The game did not get online at all when it was on the external drive. The only time I was able to get online was AFTER I PUT IT ON THE INTERNAL DRIVE. I played online for like 2 hours and the only problem was when someone would leave it migrate host. I know it is a server issue. Just saying the game loaded fine after it was moved. You @xboxbabe70 are right it has nothing to do with the game save.When I said save I meant the game itself.. But it does have something to do with where the game is installed
