Need For Speeed 2005 - Corrupted files

Hello everyone,

I just bought an original copy of Need For Speed Most Wanted from 2005. It wasnt even opened before, just like a brand new game.

The problem is, that even though the dvd isnt damaged at all, there are corrupted files without them i cannot finish the download. Ive uploaded a list of all corrupted files.

Have anyone an idea what to do with it? Or if someone from EA see this: Do you have some kind of archives where you have an original copy of those files? I will apreciate any sort of help, please, im begging you.

Please help.

  • Hello Hello!

Good News! It wasnt a broken DVD or a DVD mechanics, BUT my damn PC is the problem.

So I installed it on my brothers notebook and guess what! No bugs! No crashes! No problems with insallation!

And the game? I FORGING LOVE IT! Already beaten up the Blacklist n. 11 :D

I want to thank you for all your support with this problem.

    Have a nice life, peace.

    -Happy NFS:MW(2005) enjoyer :D

    Hey @LukyR102

We can try the following on your device to see if you can play NFS 2005.

    1. Run the System File Checker tool, then Check for Windows and GPU updates
    2. Check if any background applications are stopping the EA app or your game.
    3. Perform a clean boot of your PC to disable background tasks that may be interfering with your game.
    4. Default your PC to the dedicated Graphics card: Troubleshooting Graphics issues

If this keeps up, you might want to try uninstalling NFS, clearing any files from your device with something like Revo Uninstaller, and then reinstalling the game to see if you get corruption right after the reinstall.

    Thanks!

  • Hello

Thank you for your support, but even though i tried it all at least 15 times already, its still not woking. There are still problems with files on that DVD. The thing is that those errors are quite random, once its these files, than those files. I think the whole DVD, even though its not damaged at all, is corrupted on its own.

Thats why i was asking if EA doesnt have any sort of archives of old games installations (like some sort of digital museum/storage)

If it was possible to somehow get new files so i could finish the installation.

Please, i paid a LOT (215$) for this copy and because i "revealed" the game key, i cannot refund it (neither i want to, its too dear to me)

Anyway thank you for your support, I really appreciate it 🙂

    Hi @LukyR102

Thanks for giving those steps a try.

To answer your first question, EA does not keep online archives of older games to use when installing via a CD-ROM. You would either need to use the CD or if you own it digitally use a client like the EA app or Steam to install your game.

If the steps above did not help, it's most likely that the disc is in some way warped or damaged in which case you will need to speak to your retailer for assistance to see what options they might have available.

    Thanks!
