Can I check if you have any USB devices connected to your Xbox (any at all) and if disconnecting these and restartng has any effect?

Sure. I have absolutely nothing connected to my Xbox what so ever and I never do. I don't own a steering wheel perrifrial, external hard drive, flash drive, or 3rd party controller.

In the meantime a potential workaround is if you have a friend playing Heat, ask them to invite you to a game.
I have tried going the "invite" route and unfortunately nothing has worked. It's almost like the Need For Speed Heat game is looking for the input from a steering wheel perifrial and disabling the controller. If I owned a steering wheel (which I don't) I would test this out. This is day 3...
im having the same issue as well. also tried the workarounds with no luck!
Here it is day 7 and still no proper fix from Ghost nor EA. I feel robbed at this point as we're not getting what we paid for!
