In some cases, fans create their own patches or tweaks to still get older games running on newer systems. If you are keen on playing the game, then you might want to do a web search to see if any of such fan-made releases are available.

Are games like NFS Carbon or NFS Most Wanted (2005) ever going to have a digital edition?
DICE TeamWe try our best to add as much old games as possible, but this is not always possible for various reasons; e.g. servers being down, or certain functions in the game no longer working.
Specific to MW and Carbon, I'm currently not aware of plans to add those.
Servers for Carbon are still running, but converting a disc based game to a digital download requires removing / replacing the security check code for the disc. It seems unlikely that any of the developers that worked on the older games would still be around and/or available (as a consultant) for EA to make such changes.
Ou guys should totally do a rework on Underground to Carbon... Just deactivate the online features and give it a go on Origin Steam or GOG.. GOG gets old games run smooth and there are no problems with them.. Just saying... And please get your Origin only games on Steam so im willing to buy them...
