Guys, I might have found the solution. Control Panel -> Sound -> Right your playback device and goto properties -> Advanced tab -> Under signal enhancements, disable “enable Audio enhancements”. This fixed the heating problem as well as the lag to some extent. Another solution would be to disable windows sonic under the “spatial sound” tab. Also try running the application directly from steamapps- common- nfs exe (run as administrator). Avoid running it from steam.
