NFS Heat Level 3+
Can we please talk about how ridiculous the cops become overpowered after heat level 2? EA has made this awesome atmospheric night time mode where the cops are truly out to get you, but they're so ov...
I'm currently level 23 and I just don't bother with Heat 3, as soon as I get to Heat 2 I just go back to a safe house and reset. The risk just isn't worth it, my car is at 310 and can't out run Heat 3 cops, they seem to just instantly catch up and overtake regardless and I'd rather not lose money and the rep multiplier.
Just keep racing in the night in small increment steps. Then get the damage reduction and the repair kit the first chance you'll get.
You'll be able to take on Heat level 3 most of the time, WHEN using jumps. So make sure to memorise some.
Then just keep racing at night in the same manner, small but progressive. Do NOT get tempted to go after the special Heat race level 3 at this point, it has no use. You don't unlock any special ultimate parts until you reach Rep 50. -__- I found out the hard way.
It's only when you get all your parts upgraded to the max AND bought the orange damage reduction and repair kit (x2 times repair!!) that you can take on Heat level 4 and 5. And do the special Heat races.
Why? Because the game is unbalanced as hell. With all parts maxed, and the above passive and active upgrades it becomes very easy:
1) You'll outrun the cops in most cases under level 4. No wonder, half of the time you don't even know how you are surviving at those amazing high speeds.
2) They'll still hit you at other times, but hey, you got a "high" armored vehicle now and if you are lucky, 5 repairs in one night.
3) Couple that with jumps and you are safe.
So there is a whole "gap" where the game is getting hard as nails because you are underpowered for level 3,4 and 5. Then you get a liiiitle bit of shelter from level 3 if you know what you are doing. And that's it for a "long period" (feels like it anyway, unless you grind that Rep with special methods) of time. And then it quickly jumps to the other side of the scale and you are left wondering if the game just laughed in your face.
At level 43, and only then, I finally got some grip on the night modus of the game because of the parts that started unlocking.
Nuts I tell you. This game had such potential, now there are so many things to balance (and fix, but balancing will be the hardest part) that this game will probably die a silent death.
