NFS Heat Level 3+
Can we please talk about how ridiculous the cops become overpowered after heat level 2? EA has made this awesome atmospheric night time mode where the cops are truly out to get you, but they're so ov...
I swear, all the people here complaining how fast they catch up to you must have never played NFS before. They have literally been like this since NFS Most Wanted. It's a gameplay mechanic, without that ability simply taking a tight turn last second and watching them all blitz past you, they would never catch back up. Come see me when you've experienced the pain of driving a Lambo at Heat 1 and trying to raise your heat when you outrun a regular cop car in 2 seconds flat unless you stay slow to let them keep up. Honestly, the only reason people are complaining is because of the introduction of vehicle damage. Original NFS pursuits did not have vehicle damage, other than spike strips. In my opinion, they simply need to reduce the damage your vehicle takes to fix all of these complaints. I completely agree that losing 1/4 of your cars health from the slightest tap is nuts, but then at the same time it's also realistic, you ever seen one of those insane Dodge Chargers the police use for ramming, with all the armour and weight in their front ends? They practically crush the rear axle of a car with a tiny little tap and the chase ends pretty abruptly after that. You're all complaining about the WRONG mechanic in the game. The cops keeping up ISN'T bad, it's been like that for multiple games, the problem is the introduction of damage and how high that damage is. It seems to me like EA decided to make it a lot more realistic which is NOT a bad thing. It's just a sticking point for anyone who wants to ram a cop car or face plant a wall without any consequences.
My most fun experience in NFS was recording a 1 hour cop chase, whilst driving a Ford Mustang GT 500. Watching their hyper Corvettes come past me like a rocket because they were faster than me, it actually made it take SKILL to outmaneuver the cops, praying you hit that log truck just right, or that petrol station at the right angle without hitting something during the cinematic section and having your car stop dead lol.
@GK3512 Thank you for the correction, I've only ever played NFS open world games (I did skip Rivals as the reviews for the game pretty much nuked it and put me off of buying it, so wasn't aware that had a health system too), so I had no idea that the (As I call them) Line racer versions had health bars. Glad to see that I'm not the only one who sees the health bars as being the only issue in NFS Heat though. I completely agree that in an open world setting health bars are out of place. 🙂
@GK3512 I'm just happy there is no 3 strike thing on your car, like in MW. Imagine getting wiped out by the cops 3 times then losing your car because of this health system? 😞
