Apologies for the late response here.
- Go to Settings > Apps.
- Scroll to All apps and then scroll down to “Google Play Services” app.
- Open the app details and tap on the “Force stop” button.
- Then, tap on the “Clear cache” button.
Retry playing again and if the issue still persists, make sure that your Google Play services app is up to date and retry once more.

You would have to update Google Play Games in order to play NFS No Limits.

I've been having a similar, yet different, problem since almost yesterday. What happens is this: I can log normally into the game, and if I don't sign in with the Google Play account I can even play. However, the cloud won't save my progress as soon as I end any race, it uploads data randomly, normally after 1 hour or when I spend some in-game Gold or Skip Races (but also on this, it's not scientific, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't). Furthermore, if not logged in the Google Play account I cannot access the store, so I am disabled of any in-game purchase with real money. If I try to log in the Google account it simply goes in loop eternally, a couple of time I let it be just to check if it was just slow, but no: it simply doesn't work.
The device I'm using is a Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite 10, Android version is 7.0 (updated). I have tried a bit of everything following several troubleshooting websites: cleared cash and data in play store, play store games, and everything which was suggested, tried to uninstall and re-install them, did the same with Need For Speed No Limits, turned the device off and on. My connection is very fast at home and I've not had any internet or power shortage at all for all the day. Adding to this: I tried to log via Google Play in two other games (Pokemon Go and Neverwinter Nights: EE) and I even tested by purchasing something cheap and it worked pretty fine, thus in my opinion the problem should be in Need for Speed No Limits.
I am pretty clueless also because it seems no one is suffering from this specific problem. I hope it is just temporary and it can be soon fixed, or that someone wiser and more knowledgeable than me can lend a hand in fixing it on my term.
