Nfs payback freezes on Xbox one

My nfs payback freezes at the very beginning of the game, I have an open Nat type and my Ms runs between 48-50ms. What is it with y'all servers?
  • No, luckily, it is not. That's one good thing they did.

The online experience has downgraded a lot though...

    My workaround btw:

    - Put Xbox on offline mode

    - Boot up NFS payback

    - Play for like an hour offline, racing around each part of the map (there's a highway that covers the entire map)

    - Then go to the garage in the upper right part of the map, still offline

    - Switch Xbox One to online mode (connecting to internet, cable or wifi, either of them will do)

    - Go to NFS payback >>>start button>>>home>>>next to resume campaign click 'go online'>>> go back to your garage

From here on out, the game may freeze for 30 seconds or so (for instance when you try to customize your wraps from community wraps), but just wait this out

    - When the game doesn't seem to freeze anymore, customize your cars a little while for 10 minutes or so

After that, you can resume freeroam, or do races, story, whatever. This solution does not work all the time though, but I have managed to make it work 5/7 my last tries.

    Hope this helps

  • Something wrong with the EA servers indeed, or an ingame connectivity bug.

Either way, if you want to play the game without errors, you have to put your Xbox on offline mode.

I have found a workaround to play online, but it's very extensive and does not work all the time.

But isn't it an online only game?

Here's the funny part, I can play it without freezing on my other accounts but can't play on my main account without freezing.
  • That's weird... I'll try that, playing NFS Payback while on a different account
