    We’re sorry to hear you’ve encountered this issue.

    First off If you are having difficulties installing Need for Speed The Run  on your PC ensure that the name of the folder you're installing the game to only contains letters and/or numbers.

    However you mentioned you are using Win 8 Professional so maybe you will need to check some other settings or updates.
    Below, you will find the system requirements for NFS The Run.

    RECOMMENDED:

    • OS: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
    • DirectX: DirectX 11
    • Processor: 3.0 Mhz Intel Core 2 Quad or AMD Equivalent
    • Memory: 4 GB
    • Hard Drive: 18 GB
    • Graphics card (AMD): 1024 MB RAM ATI Radeon 6950
    • Graphics card (NVIDIA): 1024 MB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX560
    • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
    • Keyboard or Gamepad or Steering Wheel
    • DVD Rom Drive
    • Online: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection

    Please make sure Windows can allocate sufficient memory by closing all additional programs when you launch the game:

    • RenderEventToBuffer failed because of insufficient memory.-122-The data area passed to a system call is too small

    Make sure the graphic card driver update  has not failed:

    • Manager - AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series: Ending. 1,00 ms

mine always stops working at stage 8.. escape the mob... i dont know how to fix it
