i think i found something...if you are online (signed to EA), then the issue regarding no controls occurs...but when not online, there is no problem...

    Problem is 80% related to your internet upload/download speed. turn off everything else using the internet to free up bandwidth and enjoy. The other 20% is related to the servers which sometimes lag, but most of the time it's your connection. Turn off your torrents and anything else using the internet.

      I live in a very remote area and can't get a faster connection then 3 Mbit downstream. This seems too less for the game ☹️ Even when AllDrive is set to "Single Player".
