Just to confirm, same happening on XB1 and yes, the possible causes can be narrowed down to:
- too many visual parts
- too complex livery / paint
- racing in downtown area
I had no issues whatsoever up to approx. rep lev 15 when i was driving mostly 2 basic cars (Mustang and Civic) with rather simple painting and very little 'body parts' (as I was saving for performance upgrades). Problems started when I bought a 3rd car and started playing with it, added a lot of customization & complex paint, got it above 240 and unlocked new set of downtown races. Then - it started crashing in most of these races, whenever the race path got close to downtown area it was guaranteed to crash (regardless which car i used at that point, even with Civic!).
To experiment a bit, I scrapped the new vehicle altogheter, reverted back to good ol'TypeR, powercycled the console and actually, it worked fine for a whole day of playing (even on the same downtown races it was crashing - Barrier, Prestige, Tornado..). Then again, i invested in Nissan GTR and customized the f**k out of it - problem reoccured, again same symptoms in same races.
I plan to experiment some more with simplifying GTR design and retrying (i scrapped visual PARTS - still crashing - but i also still have complex livery on it. will just paint it black :P) Anyway, what is most annoying is complete lack of acknowledgement of this situation from EA side. A simple "we are aware and working on a patch" would be enough. People complained on NMS for example but at least they've published patches every 2 days after Beyond launch, with detailed notes, addressing issue by issue for several weeks. With full transparency and honesty.
Still, NFS Heat is the best racer i played for long time (and I have Forza Horizon 4 installed too - prefer NFS!). Gets me back to Underground2 days, with some ProStreet vibes too, and I loved this part so much.
