Re: Can fake Criterion make future NFS in time?

@BVBgamer88

About Cannon Ball NFS games.

I'm not a fan of them, but I don't see why they can't make one.  They've tried recreating the Underground experience, twice if you count Heat, and failed, they've tried a Casino NFS, literally, and failed; so why not try another Cannon Ball NFS game.

Not saying I'd buy it, but it's worth a try.

    @ZeroMcDol Because EA is obsessed with 16 Million sales success of MW05 and 12 Million sales success of UG1.HP2010 which was the most recent polished Cannonball NFS only sold 5-6 Millon,about 1/3 of MW05.However the success of MW05/UG are based on the fever of FF ricer/chav films.The time of chav is gone now.Hence why PS4 era NFS reboot and Heat failed as hell.
    Cannonball style proved to be successful across generations.Also used as the style of first for every generation ever since HP1 put out in 1998.It's reasonable to bring it back for next gen(what fake useless Criterion is working on/looking for devs to work on now)

    Personally, and this is just my opinion.  Heat failed due to bad design mechanics.  Traffic = Bad design mechanics, Cops = Bad design mechanics, AI Racers above easy = Bad design mechanics, and now for me, Camera swaying left and right = Bad design mechanics; Plus an incomplete story, and nothing to do after reaching the Rep cap, besides farming money for cars that get blitzed by a single car.

    These things and others that have been mentioned in the forums are game breaking, and IMO, what destroyed Heat from the get go.

    Edit:  If I had known that all of this was going on, I never would've bought Heat.  Unfortunately tho, these are things that were not mentioned in the YouTube Reviews.

    I agree about Cannonball games, in terms of the amount of sales.  They did well, but nowhere near as successfully as the FF/MW style games.

    As a gamer who started out in the NFS series with UG1, Cannonball NFS games were just not something that I was in to.  Even now, I much prefer excellent physics and gameplay in-combination with a decent story for the racing games that I choose to play.

    @ZeroMcDol NFS always start a generation with Cannonball style and HP2010 was the last polished Cannonball game.It's natural for EA/Fake Criterion to make such style as the next NFS since it's the first of PS5/XSX era.However without a replacement for Fake Criterion NFS isn't gonna stay for much longer judging by how many devs/series has been shut down previously.
  • @ZeroMcDol I disagree with you there,the Cannonball is the reason why NFS got famous in first place. The ricer games wouldent see the daylight if it werent for the FF movies, BB dev admitted they created UG too celebrate the FF movies. UG1 was actually planned way before Hot Pursuit 2 was launched, anyway in my oppinion i think Cannonball games had much better physic vs todays ricer games. Atleast High Stakes from 1999, it had best physic and damage model not as bad as Heat atleast.

    @BVBgamer88 Speak of HS 1999,that game's intro mocked ricer/chav style directly,considering what NFS became after UG1-2003,it's super ironic to see.
  • @GK3512Yes its very ironic, but if EA Canada made the game. Then its not surprising, i have a feeling thats why they got fired as NFS developer. I mean they dident make HP2, my theory is that EA themselves found out. That EA Canada mocked ricer culture, and they dident like that. So they replaced them with Black Box, since then it has been FF tuner ricer all way.

    @BVBgamer88 Ricer/Chav was popularized by FF1 film from 2001.HP2 was thrown to EA Seattle and GD BlackBox.I remembered BB stated in HP2 BTS video they wanted a Hollywood Action Movie taste in HP2 PS2(hence why PS2 version got the stupid rocket launcher heli)So yes HP2 was a Cannonball game,but it is also the game changed NFS into stupid action movies.
  • @GK3512That just confirm my theory, because i remember when i first got HP2. I got it as a gift from a uncle of mine, for my first pc when i was 15 years old. Anyway i remember after in installed the game first time, there was a menu. Inside there was extra\bonus ,inside that there was a teaser trailer for UG1. Thats why i think it was no counsiance that they made HP2 in a more hollywood style.
