Yeah, it's a common issue, as you can see in this thread. I have this problem as well - I'm still waiting for them to fix it. Hopefully they will.
Anyway, I think you should check this out, m8. This is how I actually managed to play the game in fullscreen up until now. 🙂
My video card is amd, and really can not play with full screen. i'm think of asking for my money back.
Check your catalyst options maybe something somewhere there went wrong and is forcing the game to be in windows mode. Also update graphics that can maybe cause it as well. I am playing in fullscreen mode from the day one and have no problems at all!

We are currently still investigating this issue but have not found a definitive fix as of yet. If you have any further updates, suggestions or questions then I would recommend to post them in the main thread as linked in the post by @sined23728.
