I have the same problem. I'm playing on a laptop and the error goes further as my pgup and pgdn are not working ingme so i can not switch from controller to keyboard. No, I don't have numlock on or something, i was using the function button too, it didnt help at all. I need solutions because the game is unplayable and i paid money for it

It must be a joke: the only game in the world having issues detecting keyboard keymap.

This game is unplayable on gaming laptops because it can't detect PageUP/DOWN key press (usually Fn+Numpad9 or Fn+Numpad3). Garbage code and Quality Assurance.

EA could provide a very simple solution remapping PageUP/DOWN to +/- or other common keys, available and detected for sure on every keyboard.

There is the hard-way solution...

Using external programs in background to emulate key presses, like the useful KeyManager by ATNSOFT (which is not free though).

As you can see in the picture below, I've been able to remap keys for the NFS games, missing keys on gaming laptop keyboards for lame reasons:

I had this same issue. If you have a PC that uses windows, type 'keyboard' into the search bar next to the windows icon. One of the search results should be an app that brings up a qwerty keyboard application on the computer screen that you use the mouse to navigate. The keyboard should have separate pgup and pgdn buttons. This is how I fixed my problem with it. Hope this helps.

Edit: Certain things aren't changable. For instance the use of page up/page down to answer phone calls and enter the garage but the onscreen keyboard does work with that. It's just a pain to have to exit full screen to use it.

I'm playing on PC with keyboard too. Page Up and Page Down trick is not working, because when I try to change to keyboard and change controls, I press Return to "Apply" but when I exit Settings, it changes to default again. I can't play my game, I just bought it yesterday and the game is unplayable. If I can't play this game with keyboard, why did you made an option to play with keyboard? When I start first event (meet with Spike), car just stuck in reverse, and when I press accerelate button, car makes just burnouts. I can't even go to anywhere. Please help me. And, note that I don't have any controllers plugged. Only my mouse and keyboard. I tried to unplug mouse but that didn't work. I hope you understand.
