@RustyRenesis the song used in UG2 was released in 2004, so it was not a 1971 song, the original song was released in 1971, but the remix was released in 2004. NFS has always had modern music, that includes modern remixes of old songs as long as the remix was released with in the last 7 years.
im not dictating what people enjoy. im saying no old songs because it breaks tradition and plus its also nothing new. NFS for me has always introduced new artists to me, and that was part of the goals behind classic NFS soundtracks was to introduce people to new songs and new artists. if you dont like that ideal, than that is your problem. also, i dont know how this has anything to do with ego, this is about tradition, not ego. i could give a fu** less about half of the songs on my list because the list was not about what i wanted, its about what fits the game. if the list was about what i wanted there would not even be a rock section and there would be a very small rap section because that stuff is not my main genre.

I'd point out that covers are not legally considered original works and EA has to pay, usually, a higher amount for songs that are older. Legally, Snoop Dogg's cover of Riders on the Storm doesn't have it's own release date. The date is 1971, like it or not.
With that I'm voting for Godsmack's Highway to Hell. Also, Anthrax's cover of TNT. Also, Stigmata covered by Marilyn Manson. Definitely have to have that song.

@NathanLoiselle snoop doggs riders on the storm was a cover of an official remix made by Fredwreck and was released in 2004. which if you do not know remixes have their own release dates, especially when they are official and approved by the label that published the original, if it was not official it would be called a "bootleg" which is against copyright law, but most labels do not care as the bootlegs get their original song more views.
"Snoop Dogg covered the song for the 2004 game, Need For Speed: Underground 2, in a remixed version produced by Fredwreck."
