Yes you can,  i had the same problem but i changed the controls to my liking.

To change the controls on your PS4 for NFS rivals all you have to do is press the options button, (which will open a full map of the game) then you press the back button, the circle and a menu will open, go to controls and change it E-Brake from square to whatever you want.

    Hello, you can change the controls on PC by pressing Esc or Entering a Command Post and then pressing Pg Dwn until you come to the appropriate menu. On console I believe you cannot change it sadly.
