Well, it may be that there's people on the server playing other games, but THIS game (need for speed SHIFT) i can assure you there's NO ONE playing this game there...the game does not connect to the server. NO ONE is able to play it online. It is IMPOSSIBLE to play this online, no matter where you live, whats your ISP is, or whatever.

Either theres an issue with the server, or the server was shut down without notice, and not even the support guys at EA are aware of this.

Something that we can now confirm is that the game servers are not offline, so this issue is most likely by something else and we are trying to find the root cause. 

In order to help the Team, we'd like to know if you could just tell us how exactly you get to the point where you see this error message on the screen. I mean 'step by step.'

The goal here is to provide as much information as possible to the Team, the more details, the better.

So when we go to the "multiplayer section" of this game we have the normal online matches and the rivalry matches. (I guess)

If we choose to go to the normal online matches we get the error said before.

If we choose rivalry matches we dont get the error but we keep searching for hours without matchmaking anyone even if we start searching at the same time etc etc.

Thats why we say its impossible to play.

I know skate 2 and skate 3 were not working too but ea games  patched them and they are just fine now, I guess this is maybe similar with that 2 games.

Btw there have been lots of reports on fifa 14 (ps3 and ps4) and we are not getting any answear are you part of the fifa team too ?

would be awesome since there is a lot of people asking for help without sucess yet.

(Basically all the challenges were removed and we are asking to you guys to keep some permanent challenges [as you guys do all the years])

So we can achieve the platinum so 1 challenge of each category would be great.

Good to see this topic is finally noticed and taken care of 🙂 I'll be checking back regularly to see if you guys have been able to fix it, if you need my info about the error codes go back a few pages, it on there.

To be absolutely clear:

I think we all are able to connect to the server somehow, because we are able to compare our score to our friends' score. I´m also able to see if my friends are available online or not...

BUT

Everytime I try to play online in every single mode, when I start searching for a game or try to create a game myself, it shows the error:

A Need for Speed SHIFT game server is unavailable. Please try again.

SO

The reason you EA guys are able to see people online could be because somehow we are partially connected to the servers, because we can check our score and our friends' score, but when we try to play online it is impossible.

So probably the problem is directly related to MATCHMAKING.

Please fix it ASAP it's been more than two months since matchmaking is not working.

I want my EXOTICA trophy now, as I bought the DLC like a week or two ago.

I was under the same assumption and this is exactly what we've reported to the Team.
I cannot confirm that myself but I just let the engineers investigate.

I hope this message covers everything:

To start up, most of us are using PS3, and we are multi-region.

Now to the point. I'll show you about the functionallity of every game mode. To be precise, when in the main menu:

• CAREER: It DOES show friends' times in each race.

• QUICK RACE: (Irrelevant)

• ONLINE:

1. VERSUS: Whatever you do with the options, when searching it shows the error "A Need For Speed: Shift server is unavailable. Please try again later"
2. DRIVER DUEL: It keeps searching for ages without results.
3. LEADERBOARDS: They seem to work properly

PS(i) As for any other game mode, i don't have information, and i think we don't really really care.

PS(ii) The DLC is currently being sold on the Playstation Store. "Exotica" trophy is a part of it. It's kinda a shame to sell things that do not work 100%. It is like selling a car without wheels...

PS(iii) Since there was not a warning for server closure, i think we deserve its comeback.

Just want to clarify that servers and online services for this game are not closed, this is an unexpected issue not to confuse with a service shut down.

We hope to have more information to provide you with soon.

Sorry @EA_Najat for that. I meant that the comeback would be fair to the customers. Since this was unexpected, i suppose this is not your fault, not EA's fault as a company, too. As long as you guys care and work for that, i would never make an offense to you.

Not at all don't worry, it's actually a legitimate question I just wanted to reassure players who might not be aware of this issue.

Yes, Nils and I are currently following up this situation with the Team in charge, we have no ETA but we are doing everything to get this issue fixed quickly, (not us directly, we are not engineers ^^ not yet) but this is why we asked so much questions so we can forward every kind of information they need.
