@Grantelb4rtI've come across this a lot also, yes Thekiskunk, the race-style matters, but, using a race I just attempted as an example, I have a 343 rated road race rated car, in a recommended 280 road race. To win it, I have to literally plow through the 2 - 7 cars, then have a perfect run against a 260 rated car, and there's still a chance that I may lose the race. I agree with Grantelb4rt, that there is something wrong with the ratings especially as they apply to the AI drivers.
Even more annoying is finishing up a race storyline, and because of the rating issue with some of the AI car/drivers, having to build up a car with Super and Super+ parts only to get a Pro part as a "prize"
