    Hello, same bug here.

    My specs : AMD FX-8350

    GC : MSI GTX 770 2GB

RAM : 8GB Kingston (the game have 6gb of ram free)

HDD : WD Green 1 To with 40GB free on my disk

I dont have Shadowplay on, my drivers are updated and my HDD is defragmented. I cant finish Magnus Walker race (the one where you need to use his car and which have 86 CP).

Seems like a major problem, can we have communication ? Are the devs aware and working on it ?

We are aware of this issue and I can confirm that we are investigating. In the meantime, minimizing background programs as has been stated in this thread has in some cases helped players resolve the issue, which the best advice I can give at the moment.

Note that background programs can by anything on your system, it is not specific to for example Nvidia Shadowplay as we've seen as an example. The best method to test this yourself is to do a clean boot.

    Edit:

A player managed to solve this issue in the following thread:

Please fix your game, because people are getting frustrated already. Can't complete a single mission.
Waited 4 months just to see this ...

Just a wild guess, but could it be related to the amount of VRAM on your graphics card?

i have no issues, my 970gtx has 4GB VRAM. Most older cards have 2GB VRAM.

With shadowplay disabled, i was able to play 2 or 3 races before the issue comes back.

There are users reporting the same issue on GTX 980TI.

    Hey everyone;

I have the same issue, and it occurs very regularly when I am going over ~200mph. The problem appears to be that my HDD is unable to output the road textures fast enough, so eventually I end up overtaking the road and falling into the void. Unfortunately, when I lower the textures in the game it doesn't help at all.

It seems that a ultra fast HDD or possibly an SSD is needed to run this game, which sucks because it wasn't part of the system requirements...

  • Hello All, After alot of testing with various applications open and different graphics options, i seem to have found if you close down in the task manager any 'Nvidia' related programs, including Shadowplay wether it is enabled or not, when running the game it is fine. I have also tested this on all graphics settings and it is fine on everything. I now play on Ultra and because shadowplay is off the problem is not occuring. In the meantime i suggest closing any other tabs, browsers, applications whilst playing on Origin.

    Thanks.

    Hello EA_Tom,

I tested the ccleaner solution on the post you linked to, but after a restart of my computer, the problem was still there. So i also did some testing, i tried to close every program which i dont need (program like Teamspeak, steam, skype, battle.net launcher etc...), i did the race like 6 times. I somehow managed to finish the Magnus race i talked about without the bug at the 3th try (dunno if this was some kind of miracle) but i had the bug a few times on the others tries. I realized that, each time i had the bug, it was approximately at the same area of the race 80% of the time. I also tested with a clean boot btw.

Sohaibabbas123 : Can you make a list of the Nvidia specific process running ? It's strange that you can close these without having issues with the drivers or something. Personally i have :

    nvbackend, nvtray, nvvsvc, nvxdsync.

I hope there's gonna be a fix soon, because the end game high speed races are pretty much very hard to do with that kind of bug.

Okay, I may found a weird temporal solution to this. It might sound crazy, and it might be a little annoying to do every time. Because the issues accure mostly on the highway, when I load the game I make a full run on the highway so the game can load the necessary files. At first you might experience the bug. But on the second run it doesn't appear at all. I also montired my HDD led on my PC case and it was just glowing red on the first run ( files are being read ), but it was blinking like normal on the second run, like it was on idle. I need someone else to test this and confirm that it works.

I experience a similar thing but it happens while I left the highway and go into the streets.

This is the first and last game I buy from you, EA. I barely have time to play and when I do, this #&$/# thing happens. I love cars, I love the tunning and races in need for speed. I'm even OK with the always online feature. But I started to hate this game because of this bug. I have to run every race 3 times in order to complete anything and there are races that cannot be ever finished. Optimize your game and release a patch as soon as possible.

I paid for what you said was a quality product, but this is an unfinished game, you shouldn't be selling this. It isn't enjoyable at all.

Hope I can have a real game or my money back.

  • Hey, I've tried all of the option you guys listed but none of them worked for me. =(

Really boggles my mind how this could go through testing but w/e. DxDiag below if it helps

  • NEW FIX

Not sure how many of you are still having this problem, but I was having it with my Gtx 970 and 8GGB of ram, for some reason the fix for me was to update GeForce Experience (and my graphics driver) and them use Geforce Experience to Optimize settings for Need for Speed. It made most of my settings Ultra, but the game runs completely smooth, no ground disappearing, and the graphics are better!

On the subject of money. Glad I didn't buy this game. Tried a month of Origin Access and I still feel robbed.

EA support is a joke, always has been. This issue is still alive today, when the game came out over a year ago. Tried every fix on this thread and still no further forward, and they have the cheek to mark it as "Solved".

Just to add my thoughts, I did have this problem a few times on the Need For Speed: Most Wanted game also available on Origin. Although the loading times were much less to get back into the game and restarting events and free roam is much easier in that game than in this one.

The game on a whole is brilliant, innovative and really brought the franchise back in the right direction. Not perfect of course. Unfortunately, this bug is literally an "UNPLAYABLE" game breaking issue and clearly EA have just stopped giving a s***
