Re: Performance issue, very bad FPS and FPS drops

I have the same issue. Can play BF4 on Medium settings at 1600x900, yet can't even play this on lowest at 1280x720, without it becoming a flip book if I enter more congested areas, or more than one racer is on the road. Both online and Offline, so not my connection either.

CPU: Athlon x4 640 3.0GHz

GPU: NVidia GTX560 1GB GDDR5

RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro x64

Also tried both x64 and x86, and a couple of lag fixing profiles, but all to no avail.

  • Same for me.

It often happens that the FPS drop to 25 which makes the game feel like it runs in slow motion. At special places (always the same places) like the harbor it drops to about 15FPS and is absolutely unplayable!

    Edit: My Speccs:

    core i7 3770

    Geforce GTX 660 2GB RAM

    16GB RAM

    Windows 8.1 64 Bit

Yes, this happens in more congested areas, the game is not optomized from what i have seen. Mine dips below 25 which really kills the immersion.

    Phenom X4 3.2Ghz

    GTX 660

    8GB Ram

The funny thing is: If you use that command to enable 60 FPS limit, the game runs fast like hell. Playing with 60FPS is not possible because the game runs so damn fast. The whole game speed gets doubled.

In the areas where the framerate drops to about 15 FPS the exact oppesite happens. The game really runs in slow motion. That really has to be fixed. If the game speed really depends on the framerate and only about 30 FPS are the beste experience, than the game has to run on 30FPS everywhere!

The FPS drops occur randomly and in areas such as the harbor and other more built up areas, regardless of graphical settings. It is most certainly not that my pc is struggling. I play BF4 on Med-high settings at 1600x900, yet this issue occurs even when I'm playing NFS:R at 1280x720 on lowest.

Glad to see an EA member on here, took you guys long enough. And it certainly has not helped with my distaste towards your support after problems with my FIFA, and your practice of shoving people back to the end of the queue when they ask for updates, say if you guys take a month to reply. Not to mention that unlike other countries, you charge Australia for hotline support.

This will be my last EA product I buy, if the issue is not fixed. Why should those that buy the game suffer because you fear piracy, yet release anyway on a platform you clearly don't give a rats about?
