I tend to panic in a Cop chase especially at Heat Level 5. Going fast doesn't necessarily work. Knowing the map, where the Jumps are etc. is key.

I find with the Ford 150 truck 400+ I can lose the Cops off road by going over cliffs or big hills. Also have the 5-3 lb nitrous tanks and can get to speeds like 130 mph. But still the Cops can keep up (which is the biggest flaw in the game, otherwise I think the game is excellent).

It is important to avoid colliding with traffic, so as to not take damage to your car. You need to have most of your repairs still intact in order to evade Cops at High Heat Level.

I got to say after getting Top Score on some Time Trials, that some of you Racers are excellent drivers and are extremely difficult to beat with a better Time.
