I'm currently having this problem now for Godfather 2. Is EA losing support for these games permanently or just downed servers, I wonder? I contacted support and was informed that godfather 2 had not been dropped but i should call back and request the "expert" team regarding this issue as he was not able to solve by restarting origin.
I've seen forums about replacing the paul.dll and winui.dll files but I havent found any that worked for me. I'll post here if I learn anything more.
did you rename the dll also?

I have the same problem, bought The Godfather 2 months ago. Then get can’t connect to servers message As soon as I try to play it and when I contact them they say it’s something on their side and will be fixed but cannot tell me when.
I know you posted this last year but I managed to fix the Godfather 2 I take it you have resolved this now?
