A Blue to Purple upgrade now costs:
$56,700 to install the 8 parts
$63,000 to install the 3 kits
$14,000* to rebuild the unit
$133,700 Total, much more reasonable.

This is absolutely a better situation, I have to say the update took me by surprise - pleasantly by surprise.
You're not alone, mine did aswell. I refilled using 30 bars and so far, it's working.
Am currently on 709 for the Mustang but 23 blueprints from max level and only 1 purple part. the rest are all Blue 5 Star but no Supra to get the bloody kits - still 12 blueprints away from getting the La Ferrari ☹️ will miss 10 today through not finishing the Mustang Series.
I was hoping to get my last Supra blueprints today when my tournament store updated but it only gave me 3 instead of the 5 I needed and I have 5 slots in my Tournament Store unusable because they are ALL cars I already have completed so they have "Sold Out" tags on them. They need to stop putting blueprints for cars you already have maxed out in the Tournament store it is ridiculous.
So I won't be completing today - and given that I have no more Supra Blueprints for 6 days I won't be able to get the kits I need for the bloody M4 either.
Not happy!
I already used all my gold today.
500 Gold Bars to skip final race - that really hurt and it is the last time unless things improve. 2 more blueprints needed for my La Ferrari.
I expect so because it said there was a chance to get a 4 Star La Ferrari iirc?
It turns out it was 35 BPs this week.
Anyway can we work out what we'll need for the last race of Chapter 6 going by the minimum needed for weeks 1-3? I've always been way over so I never saw the limit... I won't be this time but it would be nice to know what I'm aiming for.
I think you will need a 7 Star car (all blueprints collected) and maxed out purple parts possibly even 1 or 2 legendary parts needed. I am expecting PR requirements for final race to be over 800.
I am 3BP away from hitting 5 stars and I have 1 legendary part (Engine) and currently 1 Epic (Gearbox) my ECU is Green and everything else is Blue - so I think I might struggle.

it sucks that i came into this game so late...
i feel so rushed into trying to get everything because who knows when this event might come back around. (assuming never at this point in time)
only lvl 38 and only just got my mustang and nissan... but feel so useless cause i cant do any of the event stuff up to a certain point in time.
not only that i need to get to VIP level 4 cause screw that time limited stuff.. it should all be perm.
the4thviewer, unfortunately no. They gave players 1 or 2 days of VIP treatment but it was only for that time. You'll need to spend money to get points and progress your VIP status.
On topic, my current M4:
Figured as much, the bit I don't like is they way say 'Earn VIP points'. You don't earn things by buying them, you work for them. Give us the option to work for them
just so you know in order to get to level 4 in VIP points you need to spend roughly £28
the 2x £14.99 pack + the £3.99 (monthly gold card)
which is quite honestly insane if i may say so... all benefits should be perm! those that choose not to pay should not be hampered that badly
and considering at lvl 1 you get 1 extra fuel. that makes a big difference in for those that play on a daily use.
tho i do agree in a certain way that VIP reward program should be... a bit more rewarding!
