8 years agoVideo Driver Crashing
Hey everyone, Need for Speed is freezing on launch. I can make it to the play menu, and then it freezes in the loading screen. I have an error that pops up behind the game saying my graphics card ...
I'm having the same issue and my computer does meet all the minimum requirements. The game crashes after about 30 secs after the game loads. The screen stops moving the sound constantly repeating. The error pops up then I restart. I got about 2 hours of game play in when this started. Now the game has become unplayable. I have updated my pc and have re-updated my graphics driver twice now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW my pc specs are as follows:
OS: 64-bit Windows 10
CPU: Intel I7-4770k @ 3.50 GHz
Ram: 16GB
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 w/ 4GB of memory
DirectX: 12
Online Connection: 115Mbps
@Penguin_RhythmYou could try to install an older version of the graphics driver just to check if that resolves the issue and then update back to the latest one.
You can find driver packages here (each is around 450MB) - http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx
This is the error I keep getting. Even after trying an older and newer driver.

Performing a clean boot and a clean video driver install (potentially with an older driver set) can also help prevent this error.
When I say clean driver install, I mean that AMD user should use the clean uninstall utility before running the driver setup.
Nvidia users have a check box for clean install when custom/advanced driver setup is chosen.
