Voice chat isn't functioning as intended? (PC)
Hey everyone! Happened to come across an issue when playing the "Online Multiplayer" in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit: Remastered.
Firstly, I've seen this previous thread and want to rephrase/explain a couple of items: https://answers.ea.com/t5/NFS-Hot-Pursuit-Remastered/Need-for-speed-remastered-chat/td-p/9708019

If you have Cross-Play on, you can only play with other people who also have Cross-Play on, even if they are on the same platform. This is also how voice chat works.
If I'm interpreting this correctly, the last short sentence means that you should only be able to use voice chat with others on the same platform as you.
PS4 players can communicate with PS4 players.
Xbox players can communicate with Xbox players.
PC players can communicate with PC players.
PS4 players CANNOT communicate with Xbox players. Xbox players CANNOT communicate with PC players. PC players CANNOT communicate with PS4 players. Etc. Etc.
While this is quite limiting and I hope EA considers setting it up so all platforms can communicate with all platforms since that would make the game much more enjoyable, it's out of our reach for now.
@EA_Lanna: You mentioned that we need to turn CrossPlay ON in order to use the microphone? I don't believe this is true. CrossPlay simply allows others to choose who they can play with as the name suggests. So if I turn CrossPlay off, I will only connect with PC players and this should allow for the whole lobby to use our microphones to communicate. Am I missing something?
I also tested this by turning CrossPlay off and saw everyone with their "audio icon" next to the player name. The variables that control this audio icon are:
1) They must be on the same platform (as discussed before).
2) The "Microphone" setting must be set to ON under Settings > Audio Settings > Microphone.
3) The "VOIP" setting must be set to ON under Settings > Audio Settings > VOIP.
Here's where my issue begins: I can hear others speak in my lobby but I have no clue how to communicate back, I initially assumed it was input-sensitive or auto, but it's simply not transmitting the audio from my device to the lobby. I've double-checked all of my settings (even tested with CrossPlay ON and have another PC player in the same lobby), but it's non-functional.
A couple of concerns is that the in-game settings don't allow you to specify the INPUT DEVICE nor does it let you set-up a KEY BIND for your microphone. And yes, my default communication devices are set-up on my PC and my microphone works for any and every other game. Can anyone who's gotten their microphone to work in-game for PC tell me their secret?
Thank you!
