Same here, I posted in another thread what I tried but I'll post here as well.
- Disable Origin Overlay
- ALT+Enter and tried every resolution, as soon as I choose full screen it goes black
- Removed, re-installed graphic drivers (ATI 13.9)
- Running x86 version instead
- Running both versions as Admin
Also of note, I have another PC with NVidia card and it does not have this problem.

I'm having this issue as well, it seems to be an issue with AMD cards. I have two 7850's in crossfire. The game works fine in windowed mode only.
Just an update. Tried ATI Beta drivers 13.11 and Windows 7 compatibility mode. Still blanks out when I go full screen.

I've tried current, and beta drivers with both crossfire enabled, and disabled. Same result every time. It really seems to be an issue with the AMD cards trying to display the full screen image. It's like the game tries fullscreen, card won't allow it, so it gives up and tries again. It just does this indefinitely until you quit the game.
Is anyone looking into this? It obviously isn't an all encompasing AMD issue or there would be more complaints.

I thought I'd just point out how horrible this game looks in windowed mode. I have two screen shots here of the resolution at it's max, and it's running at it's whopping 30 frame maximum. Look how horrible everything looks, as well as how scewed the UI is, this really needs a fix now.
Does anyone have anything on this?
Not perfect at all but this worked for me. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2675769
Basically forces borderless windowed mode.
