Hello everyone,
I have merged here in a single discussion thread the recent reports regarding sound issues.
Can you please provide more information for the team please?
Information such as the platform and when/where sound issues occur would be helpful (during events/ races...)
Please add all details you think are relevant.
Thank you.
- Anonymous13 years agoXbox 360 (latest version) connected to an LG surround sound receiver with HDMI in and HDMI out connected to Insignia LED HDTV. The sound will go out for about a second during racing. The receiver keeps flashing the sound mode when it happens. As in can't decide if it wants to be in 2.0 or 5.1. I've even tried connecting my xbox directly to the tv via HDMI and to the surround sound receiver with optical cable, still had the same problems. And I have noticed it happening a LOT more frequent with the latest update. Enough to make me not want to play any EA games until this issue gets resolved, because it has happened with all the EA games I've played so far.
- Anonymous13 years agoSame issue here.
The issue seems to occur during heavy load, e.g. when a lot is happening at once. The sound completely cuts out and seems to stutter.
Xbox 360, sound is output via optical cable to Sony DAV260 Surround Sound system.

How much more info do you need? Fix it. I really would like to play this game that I paid 60 bucks for (and the exorbitantly priced DLC).

yes please fix it!! im having the same exact problem, sound cuts out, and its a really big turn off for this game. makes me want to stop playing when it happens.

I too am having sound cut outs during game play on my 360 happens probably every 20-30 seconds but it's been happening since I got the game updated. Paying 60 bucks for a game that continues to do this is a joke I enjoy the game but gets annoying when it happens feels like I got a rip off not to mention if you want to buy packs which I will not do due to the continued sound cut outs. Honestly if I wanted to play a game with sound issues I would have just kept my PS2 but I do enjoy this system and like the game but can't stand the sound issues.

Same issues here. I just purchased (yesterday) a brand new Denon surround sound system with Boston Accoustics, the first thing I wanted to do was play NFSMW on my 360. So I did. Only to hear the sound cut out for just a second at a time when a lot of action is happening during the game, which is pretty much all the time during races. So annoying. I too tried multiple HDMI cables, different ports, different settings, with no change. This does not happen with other games, movies, or any other video/audio inputs. I love this game and would really like to enjoy all of it in full surround sound so a fix would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Xbox Slim connected to an RXV673 Yamaha receiver. Tried different decode settings, cables etc, but this is the only game, movie etc that does this through the amp, so I figured I'd google it and here I am in this forum. Very frustrated, only just recently got the amp and was really looking forward to cranking up the volume on this game , but now it puts me off playing as my TV speakers are poor. It definitely appears to be certain in-game sounds that trigger it e.g. gear changes but only sometimes - it's as though in game sounds e.g. a tyre noise 'clashes' with another sound and causes a cutout if that makes sense.
Cheers - I hope you can find a fix soon.

I have the same exact setup and am getting the same problem. Disappointing, for sure.

I suffer from AUDIO issue / bug as well...Music stops for a few seconds every now and then....mostly during race, not so much while free-riding.Running on xbox360, multiplayer update 2, Sony 55hx850 TV, Onkyo TSR-507 receiver, HDMI connected.please EA get this sorted!WORKAROUND "FIX"...
Folks, i have been troubleshooting this issue today, with a few different kind of approaches.
Following method fixes the audio stutter 100%, at the expense of (non-audible) quality loss;
In your xbox system settings / audio / ...change "5.1 Dolby" in to "Stereo".
Now, to get your surround speakers back up and running...change playback profile on your amplifier to
a mode that "simulates" 5.1 audio.....There you have it, NFS Most Wanted without audio issues.
Let's still hope and pray EA patches this bug though.

I'm having the same problem, audio cuts off for a second of two during the game, it happens anywhere where there is a lot of rev sound or a change in environment, sometimes when it auto saves, I'm using HDMI through a Harman Kardon Receiver, I thought it was an xbox problem and tried optical audio but problem persist, also this happens only with this game, other games play well no sound issue, I can't play Need for Speed Most Wanted like this, please fix this problem.

I just bought NFS Most Wanted and installed it to my Xbox 360 hard drive today — and it is TERRIBLE.
I am having the same audio issues reported in this thread — not to mention the game actually FREEZES play for a half-second here and there along with the audio glitches.
I had been playing Forza Horizon all day long without a single glitch — and upon running this game (even after an Xbox reboot) the glitches are NON STOP.
You can't run a single race without wanting to shut the game off.#FAIL of epic proportions. You can't mean to tell me that not a single game tester at EA ran into this issue with all the complaints I am seeing about it?
Actually, ALL of the games I have problems with on my 360 are ALL EA games. Go figure. I will certainly avoid the label from now on.
- Anonymous12 years agoHello,
My audio keeps on cutting on my xbox 360 for nfsmw and it is extremely frustrating to deal with. It occurs almost every 30 seconds for only 5 seconds at a time whether its during events, multiplayer, and casual driving. Any suggestions on how to fix it? - Anonymous12 years ago
The audio skips so frequently on Xbox 360. It happens going in and out of tunnels during crashes... whenever a lot of graphics or audio changes happen the audio cuts out. This on the Xbox 360 S with a 5.1 audio setup. No other games have this issue just NFS Most Wanted.

I am also having this issue, however it is not just Need for Speed Most Wanted; I first noticed the audio stutter when my husband pulled out Dragon Age 2 for a replay. Extremely annoying. I can only assume this is affecting EA games since the others I have aren't affected by this. Also playing on XBox 360 and didn't experience this previous to the most recent patch. Thanks.
