I suspect that there is going to be a Cop mode in this game based on some of the cars that are available. Now I don't know that for sure but some of the Cop cars are the Hellcat, Crown Vic, Mercury, etc. and in the Trailer I believe a Ford truck is a Black n White.
I also suspect that the Cops will be something similar to Rivals. This should make it challenging for Racers depending on the skill level of the Cops playing the game.
I know I'm chomping on the bit to Bust Racers and take their cash and Level Up. The other side of me wants to race too because their are some cool cars in the game and I want to be able to drive 'em.
In Rivals I would just drive around in Undercover mode at Level 40 waiting for an unsuspecting Racer to drive by and then pounce on 'em. However there was one guy who knew my tactic and he would just come out of nowhere and wreck my car. It was funny at first then became annoying as he was able to pounce on me every time I was back on the prowl.

I noticed in Trailer #2 Release that it looks like in the Map display that it shows Cops nearby and their Ranking. Which were I believe Private & Corporal. Also it appears in the race that your money value is displayed and also ranks you by your position in the race. This I believe is so that a Player in Cop mode can see which Racer to target for a Bust attempt, which equates to your Heat Level and desire for a Cop to Bust a bigger fish for a bigger reward.
But this is still speculation on my part.
Thanks

It is my opinion there is graffiti in the game for Racers to identify themselves from Undercover Cops. I'm speculating that Cops won't have this Option. So Racers will join Crews
and graffiti their cars. I also speculate based on the Trailers that there will be Car Shows in various locations on the Map to try and hide from the Cops. And a High Ranking Cop can execute a SWAT takedown netting a whole Crew if he can discover the location of a Car Show.
Have to wait n see, I could be totally wrong or partially correct, dunno.

Another clue there maybe Cops in Unbound is the use of Spotters mentioned in the first Trailer Release. Watching Street Racing on youtube, that's exactly what they do is have Cop lookouts at a car meet such as Drag Racing etc.. If they see a Cop they will pick up and move the event to another location, the Racers scatter like roaches in under 2 minutes. Also in real life Street Racing Cops use Undercover Cops as a tactic to take Racers down.
- XGCSith3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Wireworm5 I don't remember seeing a Hellcat as a cop car. Yes there are cars that are player controlled that are cop cars but that isn't evidence of there being controllable cop cars. Those are to save time so that way they don't have to render different cars for police pursuits.

I tend to agree after reading a post on a Trailer that there won't be Player controlled Cops. But this is not definite as based on another Trailer it appears that Racers display there Money Value and are assigned a number based on their position in a Race. I believe this is an aid for Player Controlled Cops so they know who to target for the biggest cash reward for a Takedown. Then after a Checkered Flag there appears to be a yellow route outlined to a what might be a Safe House. I speculate that a Player Controlled Cop will attempt takedowns after a Racer has placed in a Race, in this yellow route.
A look at the Map suggests about 15 tunnels and possible other underground locations for Car Meets. This is why Spotters will be needed to look out for Cops during these Car Meets as Cops will be looking for these Cars Meets to net a bunch of Racers, but that could be AI Cops.
Anyway I'm still waiting to see. My heart sank as I realize I might be wrong about Player Cops, I want to Bust Racers.
- 3 years ago@Wireworm5 Previously only HP trilogy/Rivals and High Stakes had Be the Cop mode in singleplayer.Current NFS is still chasing the has-been street racing style of mid 2000s.So clearly EA still wants escape from cops to be the main chase gameplay. Most NFS with Be the Cop is still very HP style,so the two major aspect of current NFS-story and custom won't be suitable for it.Maybe if EA allow 90s HP style game return again in the future,we can see Be the Cop mode return as a main mode in singleplayer.
