Crash cams. How they affect engaging gameplay (Suggestion)

So this is the only suggestion I got for this game. I've played for 89,6 hours (Steam stats). Something I've noticed that ruined gameplay or good races is how fragile the cars are. If you crash in Most Wanted or Underground, that would only slow down your car, giving your opponent opportunities to catch up to you and win the race. In newer games, since HP or MW2012, if you even touch a car at a high speed, you'll get annoying crash cams. This would've been engaging in a Burnout game, since you can enjoy the crash physics and deformation of the car, and the whole game was about crashing anyways.

You shouldn't bring the same stuff to NFS, it ruins your momentum and it gets frustrating when the handling is already weird and sometimes you can't avoid the crash. I think this game would've been way more engaging if you only slowdown when you crash, or only get the animation when you crash directly at max speed into a car, not just by tapping them

I've seen LOTS of people quit in multiplayer because their races were ruined by a traffic car they couldn't even avoid because it spawned in the worst place possible. It's not a bad thing to get punished for crashing, but it would've been better if it was only slowing down your car, not forcing you to watch the exaggerated car flipping cutscene and having to respawn.

Again, all I'm saying is, either make it difficult for the crashing cutscene to appear or disable it. The game will be less tiring AND the community will be happy about this.

PS: If you don't believe how frustrating this is, build a NON meta car for S+ in online and go join some races. When you think you're gonna win, the car will slip up and send you right into traffic, and you wont have anything else but a long cutscene where your car stops and all the other players pass you.

  • For me, the traffic is one of the unique features of NFS. Occasionally you get unlucky with it, but for the most part I think it works well. You crash, you get penalised. Fair enough

I personally wouldn't want to see this changed.

  • As someone who is replaying the classic games lately, I'm gonna call out the "it just slows you down a bit" argument.

Underground 1 and 2 had a much worse Crash Cam if you hit something hard enough, where you wouldn't be reset until you pressed a button, or else the car would stumble greatly, making you lose a ton of time

In Unbound it is a slight punishment and in some cases it saves the race, as it is a quick crash cam that respawns fairly quickly, and doesn't kill all your momentum forcing you to restart unlike games like MW or UG.

I don't agree with this change
