A bit into the story you'll get more cars. I'm still working through it, but I plan to have a drift dedicated cars, and to add other specializations once I grow out my collection.
However before this, you'll want to check what events are out there and make any handling tweaks to specialize before you leave.

Frankly that is backwards why do I have to make 10 cars, 1 for races and another for drifts for every tier just so I can do drift events without progress time "which gets ride of the event anyway" to modify my full grip cars, meaning grinding for money to make 5 more cars, games already grindy enough, at this moment I am about to ride of NFS as dead to me with this and it handling system which has been essentially the same for 10 years and another reasons. It's to bad because customisation is still good but at last I've just about had enough, will finish the game but probably won't get NFS ever again and will be adding it to dead childhood franchises.
(Halo, Battlefront, Battlefield, Burnout, Titanfall, Mass effect, Sonic, Fallout, Dead Space, etc.) and now most likely NFS as well I guess, Thanks company's killing my childhood with "Modern Gaming".
